The fire in the sky...by =JanneO

Guess if I felt colourful today! I could have come up with a less lame title though...hmm...

I took this shot of the hot air balloon outside our house some time last year, 2010 that is, and never really did anything to it until today.

I first tonemapped it into HDR, used Equalize to blow out the sky and enhanced the result. I left the halo effect intentionally around the balloon to make it stand out more. I also made it look a bit more painting like cuz, seriously, where could you possibly see a fiery sky like that in real life...

The title: Fire in the Sky! immediately captures my attention. From looking at the title and the image, i receive a huge impact making it look like the sky is actually on fie and I wounder why. That no its not just a sun rise or sun set but that there is actually something mystical happening. Tree line on the bottom makes it even more interesting with the light coming through it is absolutely perfect. I love how it goes from a black on the left side to purple and then to orange and yellow. From left to right I wounder and i see magic. Also with the hot air balloon, it has an aurora around it which looks amazing. It has a glow that when you see it, it has some symbolism of being released.
The cloud shapes and form and movement is perfect. My eye moves around the picture and I see so much inspiration from it.

I LOVE IT!
